Youth Enrolled in School (Y.E.S.)

"YOUTH ENROLLED in SCHOOL" was first envisioned by Ruth Savage-Martin in 2004 while living in Uganda. She saw many school aged children standing around the villages doing basically 'nothin' as she recounts. The very first young man was Alex Kalema (no picture). She asked "Why are you just standing around? Why aren't you in school?" At first he shrugged his shoulders. After pressing him a little further, he finally recounted the inability of his family, and particularly his mother, to pay the tuition costs for even public instruction. Afterward, she paid for his tuition! * [Below are some of the others we have supported since that time.]

    Faith Joy

Public schools operate differently than here in the U.S. or in Europe; since Basic Elementary instruction is only provided through what is called Primary 7 (approximately age 13) and then only in limited ways.
I.e., If there is a school nearby, students like Faith, and if the public teachers don't quit because of not being paid by the government, and when the parents can pay for books, paper, pencils, required uniforms and other supplies for their children. Even then, it is primarily only when the parents or an outside charitable organization pays for it!

    Ronah

Teen aged students, such as Rhona without financial resource, are left to wander the streets or try and find any means of gaining a few Ugandan Shillings for scraps of food or pleasantries. Rhona's mother died and her father, Jeremiah, is raising seven children while working and attempting to raise the required funds for their schooling fees.
This is where Restoration Ministries and people like you can come alongside to their aid keeping them enrolled in school.

    Pamela

Our Y.E.S. program and Restoration has linked both the student, such as Pamela, and the necessary financial resources to help enrolling students gain Higher Education or access to Universities or enrollment in Technical Schooling. As of this writing, there have been well over 23 students graduating from college, university, or technical schools through our ministry. Many others are looking for aid in their schooling. Without Christians giving a helping hand, and the availability of such aid they are doomed to downward spiral in their lives.
These three represent a fraction of the students needing support. Many requests come but cannot be responded to because of the current flow of resources being given. However, we will continue to aid them as we are enabled. THANK YOU for your participation and liberal heart!

What Qualifies for Aid through Y.E.S.?

We primarily link up with students having been interviewed by our Field Representative, which includes assessments of their families finances, the students current skill and degree of dedication to learning, available institutions of learning nearby, and dedication to a determined professional outcome. We specifically look for those students having "little or no financial help" and are in need of a "hand-up" to continue their education. By this means we unlock their life of poverty, hopelessness and despair and bring a real and tangible "lift"!

    Our Need for Donors?

We collect funds and donations from willing partners who also have a view of "lifting and encouraging others whom are without hope" and believe their donations will make the difference. We then distribute these funds as soon as possible by using Western Union, MoneyGram, Sendwave, or other means so there is little delay in its effectiveness!
